Students may take admission through Admission Centres of KSBOARD or  take online admission by visiting the website: www.ksboard.org.

Learners who seek admission in KSBOARD for Secondary / Sr. Secondary / Skill and Vocation education; are required to submit original scanned copies of documents mentioned below, while registering for admission.

1. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age Limit: Students must fall within a certain age group, typically between 14 and 16 years, as per the board's rules.
  • Previous Education: Students must have successfully completed their 9th grade from a recognized school and board.
  • Minimum Attendance Requirement: A minimum percentage of attendance (often around 75%) is required during the academic year.

2. Registration for Board Exams:

  • Timely Registration: Students must complete the registration process before the deadline announced by the board.
  • Registration Fee: A non-refundable registration fee must be paid to confirm participation in the examination.
  • Submission of Documents: Students may need to submit documents such as:
    • Birth certificate (for age verification)
    • Proof of residence (if applicable)
    • Recent passport-sized photographs
    • Previous year’s school records (marksheets, if applicable)

3. Choice of Subjects:

  • Students need to choose their subjects carefully as per the options available in the syllabus. Changes after registration might not be allowed, or may require additional formalities.
  • Core Subjects: Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Languages are usually compulsory, and students can select electives or additional subjects.

4. Examination Fees:

  • The board may charge a fee for the examination, which must be paid in full before the deadline.
  • Late fee may apply if registration or payment is delayed.

5. Admit Card:

  • Issuance of Admit Card: Students will receive an admit card a few weeks before the exams. This card must be carried to the exam center.
  • Details to Verify: Students should verify all details (name, roll number, exam center, etc.) on the admit card. Any discrepancies must be reported to the board/school immediately.

6. Code of Conduct:

  • Students are expected to follow the rules and regulations of the examination center, such as:
    • No cheating or use of unfair means.
    • No electronic devices (like mobile phones) allowed in the examination hall.
    • Students must carry only permitted stationery and items.

7. Result Declaration:

  • Students are required to check their results on the board’s official website on the announced date.
  • If a student fails in one or more subjects, they may be eligible for compartment exams to clear those subjects.

8. Revaluation/Retotalling:

  • If a student is dissatisfied with their result, they may request a revaluation or retotalling of their answer sheets, subject to the board’s policies and timelines.

9. Special Provisions:

  • Disabled Students: Certain boards provide additional time or special arrangements for students with disabilities.
  • Private Candidates: Students not enrolled in a school may be allowed to sit for the exam as private candidates, provided they meet the eligibility criteria.

10. General Conditions:

  • The board holds the right to cancel the admission of any student found violating any rules or indulging in malpractice.
  • The student must follow the academic calendar and exam schedule released by the board.
  • The student’s performance will be evaluated based on the board-prescribed syllabus and guidelines.

11. Refunds & Cancellations:

  • Once the registration process is completed, fees are generally non-refundable.
  • In case of a student’s withdrawal, the procedure for cancellation will vary depending on the board.

12. Changes Due to COVID-19 (if applicable):

  • There may be additional instructions or conditions, such as online exams or health and safety protocols at exam centers, depending on the ongoing situation.
